preloder Mode
How to enter devices into preloder mode — steps for popular brands and models.
To enter Preloader or Boot ROM (BROM) mode on MediaTek (MTK) devices, power off the device completely, then connect it to a PC via USB while holding down both volume buttons. Alternatively, use Volume Down + Power or Volume Up + Power depending on the model. Ensure MTK VCOM USB drivers are installed for detection.
Key Methods to Enter Preloader Mode
Method 1: Volume Button Combination (Most Common)
Power off your MTK device.
Open your flashing tool (e.g., SP Flash Tool, Chimera).
Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down simultaneously, or Volume Down + Power.
Connect the device to the computer via USB cable while holding the buttons.
Release the buttons once the computer detects the device (usually shown as "MediaTek USB Port" in Device Manager).
Method 2: Directly via Boot ROM (BROM)
Turn off the device.
Connect to the computer with a USB cable while the tool is waiting for a connection.
If this fails, hold down the Volume Down key while connecting.
Essential Requirements
USB Drivers: You must have the MTK VCOM USB Drivers installed on your Windows PC. If the device keeps connecting and disconnecting, you may need to disable Driver Signature Enforcement.
Cable: Use a high-quality USB cable to ensure a stable connection.
Battery: While many devices can connect without a battery, keeping it plugged in or ensuring it has some charge helps with detection.
