META Mode

How to enter devices into META mode — steps for popular brands and models.

To enable Meta Mode on MTK (MediaTek) devices—typically used for flashing, unlocking (FRP), or repairing—power off the phone, then hold the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button simultaneously while connecting it to a PC. Alternatively, use tools like UnlockTool or hold specific volume keys while connecting via USB.

Methods to Enter Meta Mode (MTK)

  • Key Combination Method: Power off the device, press and hold the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons together.

  • Vol Down Method: Power off, hold Volume Down, and connect the USB cable to the computer.

  • Vol Up Method: Power off, hold Volume Up, and connect the USB cable to the computer.

  • Using Software (UnlockTool/SP Flash Tool):

    1. Open your software (e.g., UnlockTool).

    2. Select the Meta Mode option.

    3. Power off the phone and connect it via USB.

  • Test Point Method: For hard-bricked devices, disassemble the phone, identify the MediaTek Test Point, and short it to ground while connecting the USB cable
